Arizona launched rebates for energy-saving home upgrades, offering eligible homeowners up to $14K for projects like heat pumps, wiring improvements, and added insulation.
Officials said only 800 rebates had been issued statewide so far, while contractors warned installer demand could outpace availability once more residents learned.
Available rebates included up to $8K for a heat pump, $4K for an electric panel, $1.75K for heat pump water heating, $1.6K insulation.
Eligibility depended on household income: low-income residents could qualify for full cost coverage, while moderate-income households could receive up to 50% off renovations.
The rollout had been stop-and-go because of pauses tied to uncertainty over federal grant rules, but some homeowners still reported major utility-bill savings.
One Tucson-area participant said electric bills ↓~40% after upgrades, calling the rebate experience a jackpot in comments shared publicly in Mid-Q1.
